INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Cut sock just above the heel
  2. Turn inside out and use string to tie around the cut end of the sock
  3. Fold down the excess so there’s a good place to hot glue the hat to the fur pom pom
  4. Find a matching fur pom pom and find the little elastic loop and make sure it is on the bottom (this is what we’ll use to tie on the jingle bells later)
  5. Add hot glue to the top (inside) of the hat and stick it to the top of the fur pom pom
  6. Fold down the hat over the pom pom and fold the end rim up to make the hat brim
  7. Pick a felt wool ball for the nose and hot glue it to the fur pom pom
  8. Add beads of hot glue around the brim of the hat to adhere it to the pom pom and then do the same thing to glue the folded up brim part to the hat
  9. Get your fabric ribbon to make the hanger on the top of the hat and cut off about 3 inches (I use one I’ve already made as a guide so all of my hangers are the same size.
  10. Fold the ribbon in half and hot glue ends together
  11. Hot glue the glued together ribbon ends to the top of the hat with the loop part pointing to the back of the gnome
  12. Now add a bead of hot glue on top of the glued on ribbon ends and fold the looped end forward
  13. Hot glue a hat decoration to the brim of the hat - like an autumn leaf or a little mushroom or some holly berries and leaves. I like to pretend that there are different clans. So all the same color themes (white/pink, green, brown, etc) each have their own type of hat decoration :)
  • See tutorial on how to make autumn leaves (Coming Soon)
  • See tutorial on how to make holly berries with leaves (Coming Soon)

10. Get some stretchy cord and feed it through the elastic loop on the bottom of the pom pom. String on 2 jingle bells (leave room so they can jingle) and tie the stretchy cord in a knot and cut off the endy bits. Move the knot you made to the top where the loop is and hot glue it in place (let glue dry)

Tada! You can sell these Gnome Bell Ornaments for $12 and people REALLY love them :)
