Butterfly Madonna is a graceful, flowing, warm oil painting embellished with applique, gemstones and filigree. The painting measures 16 inches wide and 20 inches tall with a beautiful, golden frame. 

The painting depicts a woman in prayer. Her soft gaze reflects the peace of her spirit. Her head is bowed in prayer and her hands are pressed together over her heart as she silently communes with the divine. This divine connection is further expressed with the gemstone, filigree and applique embellishments along her crown, 3rd eye, throat and heart chakras. We see this further exemplified by the halo and soft white light that surrounds her - indicating that she is deeply connected and in harmony with the Divine.   

The stylization and mood of the figure was inspired by the works of Modigliani, Madonna of the Long Neck by Parmigianino and The Old Guitarist, by Picasso. It is both post-impressionistic due to its design-centered composition, boho-eclectic with it's embellishment and an homage to the Renaissance by subject matter and spiritual, symbolic insights.
