From the Artist: My favorite thing about this painting is the beautiful colors. I love the soft greens and blues. It is so peaceful. I saw a traveler's photograph of a temple guardian statue and knew I had to paint this enchanting being. I put her in a lush tropical garden and illustrated her divine energy with Mehndi (henna) designs surrounding her. I also thought she needed a pink, gemstone bindi at on her brow as a symbol of her enlightenment. I love that small detail as it brings you and her into the same place of focus - as if you are turning the inner eye as well.
