Odysseus is an 11 in x 14 in (27.94 x 35.56 cm) watercolor painting. It is matted and framed with glass. The frame measures 18.75 inches wide by 22.75 inches tall. The matte opening measures 10.5 x 13.5 inches. There is about a 1 inch border painted in brown around the main image on the painting itself which measures 8 x 12 inches.

Odysseus is a contemporary art piece with a modern, illustrative and stylized feel with a traditional subject matter. It is reminiscent of The Thinker, as it is a portraiture of a contemplative man - head upon the wrist in silent study of his situation in life. In this painting, it is Odysseus who is the thinker - yearning for home; yet, wondering if he'll ever get there. He is at peace with the journey, nonetheless. The seas are stormy, but the mood is quiet. Regarding the composition, it is inspired from learning about the Impressionists being inspired from Japanese printmaking with their emphasis on composition and stylization over preoccupation with realism.
